GMF#36 | We Turned the Office Into a Cat Café—Meet Bonnie.
TL;DR:
At Give.Asia, we believe giving isn’t just a job—it’s something you want to do. And sometimes, that leads to unexpected surprises. Like last Sunday, when Bonnie turned our office into a full-blown cat café, hosting over 30 people, adorable rescue cats, and a small bazaar of kindness. Giving is addictive, and when we trust each other, amazing things happen—often with whiskers and purring involved.
Giving isn’t bound by job descriptions—it flows from passion.
Trust > rules. We believe in doing what’s right, not clocking in.
Our office became a cat café for a day. No regrets.
Bonnie showed how community + creativity = real impact.

Giving Is Addictive (You’ve Been Warned)
One of the things I say (half-jokingly) to every new team member is:
“Giving is addictive.”
And I mean it. Once you’ve seen what a small act of kindness can do—once you've felt that ripple—it’s hard to go back. It doesn’t stay a job. It becomes a way of life.
Now, yes, we have job titles and defined scopes of work. But the truth? The people we help don’t work office hours. The people we team up with don’t either. So over time, the way we work has adapted into something a bit unconventional.
We don’t clock-watch.
We don’t micromanage.
We trust.
We trust that if you’re here, it’s because you want to be here. And when people feel ownership, magic happens.
When Bonnie Got the Keys... and the Cats Came In
This summer, Bonnie joined us while on break between school semesters. As with all team members who take ownership, we handed her a set of keys to the office. What she did next? Utterly a-meow-zing.
Last Sunday, Bonnie opened up our space and hosted over 30 people for an event called Cats & Chats.
She invited friends to sell handmade merch for donations to help stray cats.
She invited cat rescuers to share stories, tips, and wisdom.
She filled the place with love, laughter, and… yes—real, live cats.

Our humble office transformed into a makeshift cat café.
Tables got shuffled.
Cushions turned into cat perches.
And children (plus a few grown-ups) spent their Sunday squealing in joy, bonding with the purring VIP guests.
From Office Space to Community Place
It’s these moments that remind me why we do what we do.
When our team doesn’t just do their jobs, but brings their heart, their quirks, and their communities into it.
That’s the dream: to build a kindness platform that not only supports campaigns—but supports people who give in their own unique way.
So yes, Bonnie—you’ve officially set the bar (and the litter box).
And to the rest of you cat lovers out there… who knows?
Maybe the next meowgical pop-up is just around the corner.
Stay pawsitive,
